Eyes on You

Here's one on my posting for this weeks assignment. Sorry my posting is late, having trouble with my computor not to mention my posting issues. I will get my second posting done and move on to the fotothing posting.

surrealist

Here are my two submissions for surrealism. I really like Dali's paintings and I've visited the gallery while his work was being shown up here in Hartford. The first image is my own composition, the second is my phobia of losing my eyesight.

self portrait

I know it's the end of class, but I never introduced myself with a self portrait. I just wanted to officially say "hi" and it was nice seeing everyone's images!

Final Week!

Hi Everyone.... We are in our final week of class... all work is due by the end of this upcoming week.  I will be doing the grading on Friday, October 16th.  You may add to any of the assignments you have submitted... even from the beginning, if you feel you could have done a better job on anything.

Hope you enjoyed this experience.... You have learned much about Web 2.0 power in taking this class.... the ability to create and post visual content, not only for your peers, but for the world to see both on the blog and in fotothing is a very powerful step forward.

I enjoyed working with you... and hope to see you in another class online in the future!

Week 7: The Surrealist Aesthetic

Hello all,
Sorry about my lateness with this post - I am trying to get rid of some nasty cold / seasonal allergy (I'm allergic to cold weather!) and it has kept me down and out for the best part of the week. Well, here are a few of my favorite surrealist images from this week.

You'll notice that one of them is not actually from the website... I realized that everything I had created was slightly more unsettling and nightmarish than what others were coming up with; so I decided to go all-out in Photoshop and create something weird using real photographic images. (sort of a "realist/surrealism..?)

Hence the stormy, apocalyptic little number called Day Eleven. (shown here) The figure is supposed to be made of rock, sand, barnacles and seaweed, and represent a "the ocean's interpretation" of a human. Weird, but fun to do. There is another version of it on FotoThing with a different color cast to it. Really fun assignment!!

Sorry I'm late! I had internet problems... anyway, after taking this set of my roommate, I found out I'm not too great with portraits... any tips? My favorite is the last one and the oversaturated edit.

Week 7: The Surrrealist Aesthetic: Composited and Constructed Realities

These are my favorite surreal portraits for the week. First, I must thank Danyelle, who responded to my desperate e-mails, gave me her phone number so she could help, and spent an hour walking me through how to get these images downloaded to my computer. There are a few more downloaded on fotothing, so if you're interested please check them out. As I mentioned before, my screen name in fotothing is cvereen77. Good luck to all. It has been a pleasure. Danyelle, because of your incredible computer skills, I'm keeping your phone number for future reference. Thanks for helping out a middle-aged grandmother with minimal computer skills.

Inventions Over Time

Here are three submissions for the Surreal assignment. I really like this assignment it gives us an opportunity to really be creative with limited tools. I will post more to fotothing as they are created..
